Dame Dash is addressing all the rumors surrounding his financial status, his new role at REVOLT, and more.
On Tuesday morning, September 16, Dash returned to The Breakfast Club. He started the interview by distributing gifts and establishing boundaries before Charlamagne Tha God asked when 50 Cent claimed he bought the rights to Paid In Full and shared his plans to turn it into a TV series. Dash, who produced the original film, alleged Fif is trolling and asserted there are no rights to buy.
"He's cappin'," he said. "I told you he doesn't have the rights. No one has the rights. Who you gonna buy the rights from?"
"I wasn't planning on making Paid In Full about those people. Again, I was making *my* Paid In Full," he continued. "You don't have to buy the rights; I was actually there. You know 50 trolls."
Later in the discussion, DJ Envy asked Dame Dash why he filed for bankruptcy. Earlier this month, the former Roc-a-Fella CEO filed a petition, in which he claimed he has no monthly income and only has $4,350 to his name. Dash explained that he has to pay back $30 million and has no assets except for whatever is in his family office due to the liens placed on his personal accounts. As a way to protect his family office, Dash said he filed for chapter 7 to prevent people like attorney Christopher Brown from suing him for more money.
"I filed because you know that guy Chris Brown has been suing me," he explained. "So every time I was launching something with my family office, he would send me a letter saying that I owed him money, but it was my family office. But it muddies the waters. So if you have a contract, especially if you working here, and somebody sends a bum letter. As soon as it's a lawyer, it shuts down. It muddies the water, and I was about to make an announcement."
Dash continued by revealing he's the new chairman of REVOLT TV with a pathway to acquisition. The owner of America Nu Network claimed he's been trying to buy REVOLT. He also revealed that he signed a 25-episode deal for his podcast Bosses Take Losses and plans to upload his content to REVOLT. In the middle of Dash's announcement, Charlamagne replied that he doesn't deserve to be chairman of the Black-owned network. The interview went off the rails after that.
Dash continued to go back and forth with Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy by calling them "disrespectful" among other things. He also challenged Charlamagne's masculinity and called him "gay" numerous times throughout the conversation. Catch the most shocking highlights, and watch the entire interview below.
