Pee Dee Counties Cleaning Drains, Ditches, and More Preparing for Dorian

DILLON COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) —Counties across the Pee Dee are cleaning storm drain, outfalls and making sure all necessary equipment is working in preparation for Hurricane Dorian.

Amanda Pope with the City of Florence said they've had crews out since last week.

Pope said city staff is taking part in conference calls with the Florence County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to stay abreast of the latest developments.

Dillon County Administrator Glen Wagner said they more than 20 inches of rain during Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and about 15 inches during Hurricane Florence last September
