Lamar Odom Reveals He Left Taraji P. Henson To Date Khloe Kardashian

Lamar Odom loved Taraji P. Henson, however, the former NBA star admitted that his immature ways and interest in Khloe Kardashian led to him splitting from the Oscar-nominated actress.

In an interview for the TV One series Uncensored, Lamar opened up about his impactful relationship with the Taraji, sharing details about their love story — both the ups and the downs of their relationship, and even what caused the two to ultimately call it quits.

"I met Taraji at an HBO party... and we hit it off right away. And I really, really, really, really started liking her," Lamar shared. "I just wish I would've done things different with her."

"She was a little older than me, but I learned a lot from her because that was the most significant relationship, as a grown-up, that I had with a Black woman," he continued. "I used to carry her picture on the road with me, nobody know that. She gave me inspiration, you know... a Black woman working like that, that is just as good as her craft that I'm as good as mine."

However, Lamar admitted that he was, unfortunately, the cause of their split, saying, "Things ended with Taraji, because me being an immature punk, I didn't know how to tell her that I was falling in love with another woman named Khloe Kardashian."

The former basketball player and the Good American founder tied the knot in Sept. 2009. However, they divorced in 2016.

As fans know, Lamar first revealed that he was once in a serious relationship with Taraji back in May, during his press tour for his memoir, Darkness to Light.

In the book, Lamar shared details about their relationship, writing, "She was just such a wise woman that she could see through whatever smooth act I was trying to put on. She refused to be just another conquest, and truthfully, I didn’t want her to be." He added that sparks flew almost immediately after they met and the two "started secretly dating and quickly fell in love."

"I don’t think I ever connected with another black woman as deeply as I did Taraji," he continued. "She introduced me to her fourteen-year-old son, Marcel, and was at my house nearly every day [...] Sometimes she’d bring some of her Hollywood friends, like actress Sanaa Lathan who starred in Love And Basketball."

The former Dancing With the Stars contestant also opened up about his tumultuous relationship with his ex-wife Khloe, his infamous 2015 overdose, his drug and sex addiction, and more.
