The 2018 XXL Freshman Cover Is Here -- See Who Made It

The 2018 XXL Freshman cover was finally revealed on Tuesday (June 12) and naturally, it has the streets talking. As you look at the cover; hip hop fans will see the likes of Lil Pump, Smokepurpp, Ski Mask The Slump GodJ.I.D, YBN Nahmir, BlocBoy JBWifisfuneral and Trippie ReddLil Skies refused to attend the shoot, though he was awarded the 10th spot.

But, that's not all! British recording artist Stefflon Don hails as the ONLY woman to grace this year's cover. Bow down to her greatness! In a previous interview with iHeartRadio, Don was asked about crossing over to the American market. She explained that she wanted to make music for everyone.

"I haven't really tried to crossover. I've just been making music and just getting it placed everywhere," she told us exclusively. "I mean, you got the internet. I got fans all over the world, so I haven't really tried to crossover. I just think of my sound as just universal. I want it to be everywhere. So, I haven't just come to America saying, 'Oh, I just wanna be here.' I wanna be everywhere."

XXL definitely noticed Don's hard work because now she's on their infamous annual cover. "The actual Freshman issue of XXL magazine will hit stands everywhere on July 3," XXL reports. "After that, fans can see all nine artists hit the stage to perform for the XXL Freshman show at New York City’s Terminal 5 on Wednesday, July 11. The Los Angeles XXL Freshman show will take place on Thursday, July 19 at The Novo."

The XXL Freshman cover is a sort of right of passage for rappers. Some of the biggest names in hip hop were once featured on it in the early days of their careers including J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Dave East, Big Sean, Chance The Rapper, Wale, Vince Staples, Mac Miller and SO much more.
