Prayers Up! Monica Recovers From Surgery For Endometriosis Illness

Prayers all the way up for Monica! The R&B queen revealed on Instagram that she recently had surgery to remove her endometriosis.

Monica usually posts messages on her IG account almost every single day. So, when the singer went three weeks without posting anything, fans of hers grew very worried. Now, we finally know what the issue was. Over the weekend, Monica posted a beautiful photo of herself with the caption: "In life we have to count it all joy and know the unplanned may be in his plan💓May 30th I had an almost 8 hour surgery to remove my endometriosis (which I didn't know I had until two weeks prior) , 2 cysts, fibroids & a hernia that all were making me very sick..."

She continued: "I've known something was wrong but I also knew victory & better health would be near again!! Thank you Dr. Ceana Nezhat & Northside Hospital Staff #RoadToRecovery #CountItAllJoy #ALLSMILESALLTHEWAY".

Read the R&B icon's message below.

According to MayoClinic.com, "Endometriosis (en-doe-me-tree-O-sis) is an often painful disorder in which tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus — the endometrium — grows outside your uterus...Endometriosis can cause pain — sometimes severe — especially during your period. Fertility problems also may develop."

Though we're sorry that Monica had to go through this, we're definitely happy that she's now on the road to recovery. We're wishing her a speedy one.
